Well as of Wednesday I graduated tech school (job training in the AF) with my CompTIA Security+ certification scoring a 827/900 (750 needed to pass), on July 1st I graduated my core classes with a 98.75 average which put me at Distinguished Graduate status (ranked 2nd in the class, missed Top Graduate by a single question), back in April I graduated the IT Fundamentals course with a perfect score.

Now, I'm sitting at home taking some leave and going to be working with my recruiter for the next two weeks starting tomorrow.  After that, I'm going to be driving to AZ for my first assignment.  To say I'm anxious is an understatement.

I'm going to miss hanging out with my friends at tech school though.

Dreams have a way of taking flight sometimes, like mine.

Ever since I was about 6 I've dreamed of being in the Air Force.  Today I'm writing you from the hotel that my local Military Entrance Processing Station uses to coral enlistees before they get medically reviewed or shipped off.  Today/Tomorrow, I'm in the latter group.

So, for the next 8.5 weeks, if all goes well, I won't be online, just a heads up.

I'm spreading my wings, ready to take flight and soar like the dragons of old.  My dreams clenched tight in my talons as I sore to new heights and make them happen.

That is all I have left as a civilian.

Last week my recruiter told me I was going to be leaving for basic training on 1 Feb, I'll be in Cyber Systems Operations, which is pretty much a computer guy.  A job description can be found at usmilitary.about.com/od/airfor…

Didn't qualify for 2 of the jobs I wanted though, trying to fight that.
